Jerzy Kwaśniewski is a civil litigation and criminal defense attorney, focused on protection of pro-life activists and values such as freedom of association, freedom of expression, freedom of conscience and human dignity.
In his professional practice as partner in Parchimowicz & Kwaśniewski law firm, Jerzy Kwaśniewski counsels conservative human rights NGOs, international transport associations, national chambers of commerce and industry, cooperative movements, collective rights management associations, as an expert on freedom of association, NGO management and third sector participation in democratic legislative procedures.
Besides legal practice in the law firm, Jerzy Kwaśniewski has been a treasurer and director of litigation department of the Ordo Iuris Institute since 2013. Under his leadership Ordo Iuris has provided legal assistance in many precedent cases and contributed to the shift the Polish court jurisprudence concerning right to assembly and presentation of pro-life explicit banners in anti-abortion protests across the country. Ordo Iuris lawyers provided also a pro bono legal assistance in cases against the administration’s rulings restricting the parental rights with infringement of the family values.
Jerzy Kwaśniewski advises physicians and pharmacists in execution of their right to conscientious objection and represents the recognized Polish pro-life gynecologist in his precedent struggle against the local government, that released him from work as the director of city hospital after he raised conscientious objection and rejected to provide abortion to the mother of a deformed child (in its fetal stage).
Appointed by the Minister of Justice as member of the advisory council on modernization in the area of justice. Represents Polish parliamentarians in their pro-family and pro-life cases before the Polish Constitutional Tribunal.
He and his wife have four children.
