noopener\">were submitted to the Sejm<\/a>, Poland\u2019s lower house of parliament, just before Christmas. The signatures were delivered in gift-wrapped boxes, symbolizing what the bill\u2019s promoters described as \u201cthe best Christmas gift Polish adults could give to children.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On behalf of the Legislative Initiative Committee, lawyer Rafa\u0142 Dorosi\u0144ski from Ordo Iuris presented the bill\u2019s justification, highlighting its broad public support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI stand before you today on behalf of 212,000 citizens who have signed a bill aimed at protecting Polish children from one of the most alarming modern phenomena\u2014unrestricted exposure to even the most extreme pornographic content,\u201d he stated. He added that nearly 80% of Poles support the introduction of such regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dorosi\u0144ski cited\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cyberprofilaktyka.pl\/badania\/2022-nastolatki-a-pornografia-badania.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">data illustrating the widespread consumption of pornography<\/a>\u00a0among young people, noting that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The average age at which children first encounter pornographic content is under 11 years old.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One in four teenagers reports watching pornography daily.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is quite obvious that we are dealing with a phenomenon of massive proportions,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee\u2019s representative also outlined the negative effects of youth exposure to pornography.
