to participate in the Committee meeting at which candidacies for judges of the Constitutional Tribunal were to be considered.&nbsp; Then, 40 minutes before the Committee meeting, he unexpectedly changed his mind. Pursuant to Article 30(3)(1) of the Rules of Procedure of the Sejm, motions nominating a specific candidate must be submitted no later than 30 days before the expiration of the term of office of the judge vacating a seat on the Tribunal. Meanwhile, the current ruling majority decided four times not to put forward its candidates within the above-mentioned deadline, and subsequently rejected in votes (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sejm.gov.pl\/sejm10.nsf\/GlosowaniaDzien.xsp?posiedzenie=29&amp;dzien=2025-02-21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">February 21, 2025<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sejm.gov.pl\/sejm10.nsf\/GlosowaniaDzien.xsp?posiedzenie=34&amp;dzien=2025-05-09\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">May 9, 2025<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sejm.gov.pl\/sejm10.nsf\/GlosowaniaDzien.xsp?posiedzenie=40&amp;dzien=2025-09-12\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">September 12, 2025<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sejm.gov.pl\/sejm10.nsf\/GlosowaniaDzien.xsp?posiedzenie=50&amp;dzien=2026-01-23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">January 23, 2026<\/a>) the candidates nominated by the opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Procedural concerns regarding the actions of the ruling majority<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Unexpectedly, at the beginning of this week\u2014on Monday, March 9\u2014the Speaker of the Sejm from the \u201cLeft\u201d party, also part of Donald Tusk\u2019s coalition, W\u0142odzimierz Czarzasty,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvp.info\/91994416\/do-11-marca-mozna-skladac-w-sejmie-wnioski-ws-wyboru-6-sedziow-do-trybunalu-konstytucyjnego-decyzja-marszalka-wlodzimierza-czarzastego\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">set the deadline<\/a>&nbsp;for further nominations for judges of the Constitutional Tribunal to March 11. This meant that the entities authorized to submit nominations (that is, the Presidium of the Sejm\u2014the Speaker and Deputy Speakers making decisions by majority vote, or at least 50 members of the
