The Legal Culture is an academic journal published by the Ordo Iuris Institute for Legal Culture. Its establishment was motivated by a conviction shared within our community: that law is a reality too complex to be adequately understood solely as a set of rules or through mere reference to the authority of natural law. Therefore, we aim to present law as a cultural phenomenon in all its complexity and as a culture-shaping factor that exists in multi-level interactions with other dimensions of human experience. We seek to create a space for the exchange of ideas among those for whom the question of values in law is a significant motivation for undertaking academic research.
We are honored that prominent Polish lawyers, sociologists, anthropologists, philosophers, and theologians have accepted our invitation to join the Academic Council of the journal. This distinguished group includes Prof. Paweł Sobczyk, Prof. Teresa Mróz, Rev. Prof. Grzegorz Leszczyński, Prof. Antoni Bojańczyk, Prof. Marek Rembierz, Rev. Prof. Piotr Morciniec, Prof. Wojciech Świątkiewicz, Prof. Zdzisława Kobylińska, Rev. Prof. Franciszek Longchamps de Bérier, Prof. Krzysztof Motyka, Prof. Krzysztof Wiak, Prof. Joanna Haberko, Prof. Mirosław Granat, Prof. Piotr Niczyporuk, and Prof. Oktawian Nawrot. The late Prof. Jerzy Kwaśniewski was also a member of the Council.
We invite both theoreticians and practitioners of law, as well as specialists from other fields (particularly the humanities and social sciences), to submit scholarly articles for upcoming issues of The Legal Culture. We encourage you to register on our journal’s website under the “Submissions” tab.
The Legal Culture is a scored journal. In accordance with the Announcement of the Polish Minister of Education and Science dated July 17, 2023, regarding the list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international conferences, authors receive 20 ministerial points for publishing a scholarly article in our journal.
