The European Union’s proposed treaty changes would result in the transfer of extensive decision-making powers from the national level to EU institutions. These changes would cover, among other areas, foreign policy, defence, border protection, and financial matters, thereby limiting Poland’s autonomy in these fields. The EU would also gain greater influence over health, education, family, energy, and climate policy. The introduction of new voting rules would weaken the ability of individual states to block unfavourable decisions. As a result, these changes would lead to a significant reduction in the scope of state sovereignty and its influence over key decisions affecting the lives of citizens.
